Composition



The State Electoral Commission has a President, four Vice-Presidents and four Members.

The President, Vice-Presidents and Members of the State Electoral Commission are elected as foreseen by the Act on the State Electoral Commission of the Republic of Croatia.

The President of the State Electoral Commission is the President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Croatia ex officio.  Two Vice-Presidents are elected by the general session of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Croatia from among judges of that court upon proposal of the President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Croatia.

The other  two Vice-Presidents and four Members of the State Electoral Commission are elected by the Croatian Parliament by majority vote of all representatives of the Croatian Parliament. One Vice-President and two Members are proposed for election by the majority political party or coalition and the other Vice-President and two Members are proposed for election by the opposition political parties or coalitions, in accordance with the party structure of the Croatian Parliament at the time of the election. Said Vice-Presidents and Members serve for a term of eight years.
