Participation of representative of the State Electoral Commission of the Republic of Croatia at the International Conference on Electoral Integrity, Stockholm, Kingdom of Sweden, 9–13 June 2025
Draženko Pandek, Member of the State Electoral Commission of the Republic of Croatia, participated at the international conference dedicated to electoral integrity (Stockholm Conference on Electoral Integrity), held in Stockholm, Kingdom of Sweden, from 9 to 13 June 2025. The conference was jointly organized by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA), the Swedish Election Authority (Valmyndigheten), and numerous other partners involved in promoting electoral credibility.
The aim of the conference was to bring together electoral administrators, policymakers, academics, and representatives of civil society from around the world to exchange experiences and advance electoral standards in the face of contemporary challenges such as disinformation, cybersecurity, campaign financing, and artificial intelligence.
Among the key themes highlighted at the conference were the following:
- Resilience and trust in elections
- Identified risks to electoral integrity
- Regulatory responses and development of resilience tools
- Mechanisms of resilience
- Ethical framework and guiding principles for action
As part of the conference program, bilateral meetings were also held with representatives of other electoral bodies. Notably, there was a meeting with the President of the Election Commission of India, Mr. Shri Gyanesh Kumar. Additionally, participants visited Valmyndigheten (the Swedish Election Authority) and were received at the Riksdag (the Swedish Parliament), where they were welcomed by the Speaker of the Swedish Parliament, Mr. Andreas Norlén.
